Haas F1 will have two new drivers in 2021.

That’s right. After both Romain Grosjean and Kevin Magnussen announced overnight that they would be departing the American F1 team at the end of the season, it’s evident Haas is going to change things up in the near future.

Having just signed a new deal to compete in Formula 1 for the next five seasons, Haas is setting up a new strategy to once again be somewhat competitive in the series.

It looked as though, however, in year 3 that the moves they had made for the pair aforementioned were the right ones.

Magnussen was entering his second year with the team and scored 56 points – a Haas best – during the 2018 season. Grosjean meanwhile had his best year tallying 37 points.

But, the success dwindled.

In 2019 the two combined for just 28 points through the season and struggled out of the gates.

Fast forward to this season and both drivers have only one top 10 finish to each of their names through 11 races.

That’s a big downhill trend.

The team cited financial struggles due to the COVID-19 pandemic when on the phone with its soon-to-be former drivers, but there’s a statistical strain as intense as the finances are.

Not to mention, With spending limits coming for teams following the 2021 year, it should bring things just a little bit closer between all of the teams in competition.

We’ll see who the team chooses to elect for 2021, but they’ve shown in the past that we might have no idea until they officially announce any moves.
