After one of the best ‘free agent’ seasons we’ve seen out of a World of Outlaws driver in recent memory,  Shane Stewart is calling it a career.

Stewart will be retiring from full-time competition in order to run Port City Raceway – one of the most famed micro sprint tracks in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Stewart released this statement through his Twitter feed on Tuesday morning.

Stewart will be partnering with Kevin Rudeen to take ownership of the track – a 1/8th mile clay oval.

The Bixby, Oklahoma native finishes his World of Outlaws career with 36 feature wins, good to put him at No. 19 on the all-time wins list.

One of the highlights of the stars’ career includes five Knoxville 360 Nationals championships including four victories in a row driving for Paul Silva from 2010-2013.
