This could be the end for Iowa Speedway.
At least that’s what this article published by Robin Miller of RACER.com says of the Newton, Iowa 7/8ths-mile oval.
The track was purchased by NASCAR four years ago and has been a mainstay on both the NASCAR Xfinity and Truck Series tours as well as the IndyCar schedule since 2007.
Rumors are swirling that Roger Penske – who owns teams in both NASCAR and IndyCar – was exploring a purchase of Iowa Speedway, however Miller sites in the article that it is not likely that happens.
If the track can’t find a buyer, we might have already seen our last race there.
Fans are starting to take attention on social media and have begun using #SaveIowaSpeedway to try and gather some awareness of the news.
