Aside from a couple of surprises, it was a relatively tame night of racing in Thursday’s duels at Daytona – at least until Joey Logano spun around the hood of Chris Buescher’s car on the last lap of the second race.
Buescher and his teammate Brad Keselowski won the duels and will fill up the second row of Sunday’s Daytona 500.
It’s not surprising that the 60-lap qualifying races in a year where teams are short on cars didn’t produce a massive amount of heart-stopping moments.
It did however make the race for Kaz Grala, who used the draft to pass J.J. Yeley on the final lap of the first race. It got Grala, and his Floyd Mayweather-owned team, to qualify for Sunday’s 64th running of the Great American Race.
Sunday’s Daytona 500 will begin at 1:30 p.m. CT on FOX. The starting lineup can be seen below:
