Brad Sweet wasn’t used to failing to secure a win in the first 10 races of a World of Outlaws season. In the 11th race of the year in the series, however, he did.

The Kasey Kahne Racing, NAPA Auto Parts No. 49 driver lead every lap of the race, winning from the pole at Vado Speedway Park in New Mexico.

“Yeah, it feels like a long time, but we got racing for points at the end of the year,” Sweet said on DirtVision. “Sometimes, you don’t take the same risks you would if you weren’t (racing for points).”

Sweet held off Sheldon Haudenschild for the victory while Donny Schatz rounded out the podium for the night.

It was the California native’s 75th career victory in the series.

“It’s been a few fun years,” Sweet said on the broadcast. “Hopefully, we’ve got a few more wins ahead of us.”

The World of Outlaws will return to the track on Friday night as they take to Lawton Speedway in Oklahoma before heading to Devils Bowl on Saturday to round out the week. All of the action on the track can be seen live on DirtVision.
