After the World of Outlaws visit Lawton and Devil’s Bowl this weekend, the tour’s sprint car season will already be 1/7th of the way done.

There’s been no shortage of storylines through 11 races, either. We break them down here:

Brad Sweet only has one win, but still holds hottest start: The three-time and defending World of Outlaws champion may have just broke a 24-race winless streak, but no driver’s results have compared to that of the pilot of the No. 49.

Sweet owns a series-best nine top 5’s and 10 top 10’s through this point in the season. He sits at the top of the standings with a 32-point lead over David Gravel as well.

That’s the secret sauce to winning a title in this series, as he’s shown the last three years.

Gravel, Macedo & Haudenschild are giving Sweet a run: Sitting at the top of the wins list in the World of Outlaws thus far is a trio of full-time drivers that each hold two wins already.

Kicking off the year with the Big Gator trophy, Gravel has established himself once again as the No. 1 contender to knock Sweet off of his thrown. Had it not been for a pair of unlucky results, the Big Game Motorsports driver might lead the standings right now.

Fresh on his tail, however, is both Carson Macedo and Sheldon Haudenschild. Each with two wins to start the year, the strong starts could translate to something as the season rolls on.

Gio Scelzi soars off the jump: The young gun and California native in Gio Scelzi is the other driver tied at the top of the World of Outlaws wins list this year.

A strong start to the season can help any driver, but it’s even more important for one like Scelzi who has been establishing himself in the national sprint car ranks since even before taking the KCP Racing seat.

Scelzi isn’t planning on running an entire World of Outlaws season this year, but thus far, he’s participated in every event, earned eight top 10’s and is two points out of being in fifth-place.

Bayston establishing himself for ROTY: It wasn’t going out on a limb to predict that Spencer Bayston would win rookie of the year prior to the start of the season, but the driver of the CJB Motorsports No. 5 car is proving himself right now.

So far on track, Bayston has shown a plethora of speed, but hasn’t had success in closing out A-Mains.

He’s earned five top 10’s at the moment, but don’t expect him to slow down. Bayston can take another step, being an already capable driver, with a little bit of luck.

Logan Schuchart still looking for first win of 2022, goes to Devil’s Bowl on a streak: Logan Schuchart hasn’t yet made a trip to victory lane this season, but the No. 1S is familiar with Saturday’s race track quite well.

In the past three visits to Devil’s Bowl Speedway, Schuchart has came out on top. He’ll put a three-race win streak at the Texas track on the line this week with the Outlaws.

Friday night’s action at Lawton Speedway has been moved up to hot laps rolling off at 6:00 p.m. CT. For fans wanting to view the action, it can be seen live on DirtVision.
