The World of Outlaws’ return to console gaming is just over six weeks away, with the company releasing pre-orders on Monday through worldofoutlawsgame.com.
Now available ahead of the release date is both a standard edition ($49.99) of the game and a gold edition ($69.99), set for release on September 27, 2022. Anyone who pre-orders the game will be able to play as three-time World of Outlaws champion Sammy Swindell in the Channellock No. 1 car.
The gold edition will feature all downloadable content for the remainder of the 2022 calendar year, including three tracks; Limaland Motorsports Park, Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55, and Lucas Oil Speedway, as well as two additional DIRTcar classes; DIRTCar UMP Modifieds and Super DIRTcar Big Block Modifieds. The season pass for the same DLC costs $29.99, so fans are saving $10 in comparison.
“Many of our fans have been asking for a World of Outlaws console game, and now through our partnership with iRacing we’re able to deliver,” World of Outlaws CEO Brian Carter said. “Whether it’s PlayStation or Xbox, fans can race against World of Outlaws drivers in the most realistic game available. The team at iRacing and Monster Games has really developed an authentic option to see what it’s like to race on dirt against the best in the business.”
The game will feature 40 race tracks including an advertised 13 ‘licensed tracks’ that feature real-world facilities. It’s assumed that tracks that aren’t licensed will closely resemble the tracks in real life.

“We’re thrilled to bring World of Outlaws back to console gaming with World of Outlaws: Dirt Racing,” said Monster Games founder and general manager Rich Garcia. “With the addition of iRacing resources to the established Monster platform, as well as the support of World of Outlaws, this is the most realistic, challenging, and most importantly, fun dirt racing experience ever seen on the PlayStation or Xbox. We can’t wait for dirt racing fans to go wheel-to-wheel at Eldora, Knoxville, and more this fall!”
Other Extras from the trailer
From the trailer that was released, fans can see dirt late model driver Bobby Pierce’s 2022 white-and-purple wrap that he’s ran all over this season. This is likewise for Chris Ferguson, Darrell Lanigan, Nick Hoffman, Hunter Joiner and Zach Mitchell as well (thanks to @blenny10, @chase_boley, and @jasonengen49 for pointing some of those drivers out on Twitter).
The sprint car side was a bit more sparse in finding easter eggs in the trailer, but McKenna Hasse and Jack Dover (0:24 mark), and Billy Dietrich each appear pace lapping.
It’s unclear whether or not these drivers will be playable, but it’s encouraging that their wraps appear in the trailer for the game. It’s unlikely they would be included if they weren’t unlockable/usable.
