James McFadden started on the front row of Saturday’s World of Outlaws A-Main and never looked back.
The Australian racer captured his second win of the season in the Texas Outlaw Nationals finale, leading all 30 laps in the process to continue a hot start to the season.
“Yeah a really good payday,” McFadden said on DirtVision. “The last few races have been tough for us as a team. You start to doubt your abilities and what we’re doing as a team. We’ve just been working really hard and got it comfortable.”
McFadden credited his run in the dash that awarded him a front row starting spot to what made the race for him.
With the spot on the front row, McFadden was able to get a healthy launch at the start of the race and use it to propel him to the win.
“It was really important to get that start. I feel like if I let Buddy (Kofoid) get that start, he would have checked out. We were able to maneuver through those lapped cars and then I got to (Brian) Brown and thought, ‘he’s fast enough, I don’t need to do anything silly.'”
Buddy Kofoid landed P2 on the podium for the third time this season while Carson Macedo rounded things out in third.
The World of Outlaws start the venture to the Midwest in its next appearance on-track at the Osborn Sprint Car Showdown at U.S. 36 Raceway in Missouri on Friday. All of the action can be seen on DirtVision.
