With rainouts canceling USAC races, Brady Bacon threw the wing on his Hink Racing No. 21H and came to Haubstadt in hopes of crossing a line off of his bucket list.
At the end of a chaotic race at ‘the Class Track,’ Bacon did just that.
“I feel like I’ve had several slip through my fingers here… It’s been on my bucket list for quite a while,” Bacon said on the DirtVision broadcast. “I think it’s kind of my last one to check off the list. It’s fitting I got it done here where I’ve always ran really well.”
Bacon got by Sheldon Haudenschild in the waning moments of the race and managed to skate by and find a way to victory lane.
In the weeds of it all was a number of early exits from the event, including championship contender David Gravel pulling into the infield under green and retiring from the race.
It’s put Gravel 50 points back of leader Carson Macedo, who has a 12-point lead on four-time and defending champion Brad Sweet.
Parker Price-Miller was also disqualified from the race after making contact with another driver under caution.
The series will return to the track next weekend for a doubleheader weekend at Eldora Speedway. As always all of the action can be seen live on DirtVision.com.
