In a night that saw two competitors go off of the pace while running in the top five, the biggest competition to Bobby Pierce was the impending rain falling at Randolph County Raceway.
The rain forced the postponement of the Hell Tour’s modified feature at the track and cut the late model feature about 14 laps short.
However, it could have been another 50. No one was stopping Pierce.
The No. 32 car got out to a blistering pace on the original double-file start, with Hell Tour points leader Brian Shirley jumping up to third in the opening laps behind him.
Although, Shirley was never able to clear Frank Heckenast Jr., let alone to attempt to give chase to Pierce.
The win is the second of the season for Pierce, who ties Shirley with the most victories as the only two multi-race winners with the DIRTCar Summer Nationals this season.
The series will return to the track on Tuesday when it heads to Peoria Speedway after a one-day hiatus. All of the live action can be seen on DirtVision.com.
