C.J. Leary tests Alex Bowman Sprint Car

On a Thursday afternoon barraged with silly season news scattered all around motorsports, Alex Bowman posted a photo on Instagram of a Valvoline sponsored sprint car with the letters, “ABR,” spelled across the front wing.

Presumably, the text was corresponding to Alex Bowman Racing, and it seems like the NASCAR Cup Series star is starting to venture into owning his own car to rip on the dirt tracks.

On the hood of the car in the picture Bowman posted is the name, “Leary.”

Now, without there being an official announcement, a lot of a dirt fans already knew that USAC star C.J. Leary would be pegged as the driver.

Friday, they got there confirmation – at least for now.

Leary can be seen here turning laps at The Dirt Track at Charlotte – where the World of Outlaws wraps up its season on a yearly basis.

Bowman confirmed in a tweet that the car would not be running this weekend at Kokomo nor in November at “The Last Call” with the World of Outlaws.

Leary is still serving his suspension with USAC, however, which could have played into that position.

The only thing known for sure is that if Leary is hopping behind the wheel of the 55 in 2021, it’ll be intriguing to say the least.
