When the World of Outlaws Late Models come to Boone for the first ever Hawkeye 100 next week, fans will see a start like nothing they have before in tour history.

The series announced Monday that the Hawkeye 100 Feature race will see a three-wide start to the show.

“This unique event brings the World of Outlaws to Boone for the first time, and we’re excited to add to the history there,” World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series Director Casey Shuman said in a press release. “The three-wide start has everyone talking, but a $30,000-to-win and $1,500-to-start event early in the season is tremendous for the teams, too. We can’t wait to get there and put on a show for the fans.”

The event is just the latest big-money show for the tour, who is coming off of runs at Bristol, the Illini 100, and a postponed Rock Gault Memorial stretch.

Friday night’s preliminary action to Saturday will hold a pair of features that will set the field for Saturday’s main event.

The winner of each Friday feature – dubbed the ‘Twin Hawks’ – will receive a $2,500 check.

Always Race Day will be in Boone to provide full coverage of the event and for those that cannot make it, all of the action can be seen live on DirtVision.com as always.
