They didn’t get to finish under the green flag at Talladega on Saturday, but it was a thrilling day nonetheless – at least for fans of Jeb Burton and Kaulig Racing.
The Halifax, Virginia native was out front with 24 laps remaining when rain started to fall on the NASCAR Xfinity Series field and the racing surface at Talladega.
A few minutes later, NASCAR called the race and declared Burton the official winner. It made for a good burnout, too.

The cars were pace lapping when the rain fell after Joe Graf Jr. triggered an accident that ended the days of Michael Annett, Brandon Jones, and Ty Dillon among others.
Due to that caution, drivers couldn’t race to the win as fully as they were looking for.
Instead, Burton became the fourth first-time winner this season in eight races on the NASCAR Xfinity tour. That’s a stellar happening for the “Names are made here” campaign.
Burton, running a full year with Kaulig Racing will clinch himself into the playoffs with that victory.
Austin Cindric and AJ Allmendinger rounded out the podium while Noah Gragson came away with the Dash 4 Cash bonus check.
The only problem was that they couldn’t find the check following the finish of the race.

Riley Herbst came home in fourth, matching his best finish of the season at Phoenix Raceway.
The series will return to the track at Darlington on Saturday May 8 for NASCAR’s Throwback Weekend after taking next weekend off.
Until then, it’s Jeb’s time to finally celebrate.
