Kaulig Racing is about to take that anticipated jump.
Owner of the team, Matt Kaulig is jumping up to the NASCAR Cup Series level in 2022, fielding a team in the premier series.
Currently a three-car team in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, the group looks to expand to bigger and better things. This had been in the works ahead of the COVID-19 pandemic, but eventually delayed as revenue stopped coming in for an amount of time.
Kaulig Racing has fielded four Cup Series entries in its lifetime. Justin Haley ran the 2020 Daytona 500. AJ Allmendinger and Kaz Grala have combined to run three races this season.
Of the four starts they’ve made, they have earned two top 10’s.
The team is also coming off of Jeb Burton’s rain-shortened Xfinity Series win at Daytona, the second victory in the AAA tour this year.
They’ve yet to earn an Xfinity Series championship, but don’t be surprised if they contend this season.
