This weekend, the top winged sprint car tour in the nation takes stride with the non-winged guys – and they’re set for a return of the year.

The World of Outlaws and USAC sprint cars are joining together again for #LetsRaceTwo – an event where both cars play support class to each other (depending on where your fandom lies) at the famous Eldora Speedway.

The track, owned by Tony Stewart, has been a second home to both series, historically.

Not only was it one of three tracks the World of Outlaws had visited every season in series history up until 2020, but it is also the most visited track on the USAC national schedule.

Eldora is one of the meccas – and we’ll get to see it in action again this weekend with a pair of intriguing fields.

Brad Sweet comes into the weekend off of three-straight wins with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car tour. The defending champion took victories on the Jacksonville Speedway Bullring as well as the half-mile, newly re-opened I-70 Motorsports Park.

The sweep for the series points leader came after David Gravel closed the gap in the standings to 60 points by winning both races at Bristol.

Each of the drivers have collected multiple wins at Eldora – two of just five active drivers with wins at the Big E.

Although, their numbers at Eldora won’t compare to Donny Schatz.

The Tony Stewart Racing driver has won 15 times during his career at the track and is still looking for that elusive 300th-career World of Outlaws victory.

The two nights of racing could see some non-wing stars throw a win on the top of the car and go for the bigger money up against the Outlaws.

That could include Tyler Courtney – who is in his first full-time year of winged racing with Clauson Marshall Racing and is a former star of the USAC tour.

Courtney, a 2018 USAC Sprint Car champion and 2019 USAC Midget champ, owns the last four USAC Sprint Car race wins at Eldora.

With the ASCoC off for the weekend, it’s not out of the question that Courtney could pull double duty, however it has not been confirmed either way.

If Courtney can’t make it, though, the top drivers in the tour will be gunning for a big win.

Defending champion and points leader Brady Bacon has two wins already this season as well as a former #LetsRaceTwo preliminary night win to his name.

He’ll be matched up with Justin Grant and Kevin Thomas Jr. who are the lone drivers holding pace with the No. 69 in the USAC point standings.

That’s just the type of tour that USAC will bring, though – and that’s not to say it’s different with the World of Outlaws – the top dogs are out to perform each and every night and it’s not bold to say that one of these three will be standing in victory lane this weekend.

The action kicks off with hot laps on Friday night at 6:00 p.m. CT. The streaming situation will be up to what DirtVision and FloRacing come up with.
