Haudenschild takes No. 300 from Schatz at Eldora Nightcap

For the second time during the 2021 World of Outlaws season, Donny Schatz was two laps away from his 300th career series win.

The 10-time sprint car champion had sped away from young gun Sheldon Haudenschild only to hear the No. 17 chipping back at the lead he had built with a handful of laps to go.

It was a scene reminiscent to Schatz’ lead evaporating in Volusia during the first week of the season due to mechanical failure.

The driver of the No. 17 captures his third win of the 2021 season and first career victory at the Big E.

Haudenschild came home with the victory, charging to the lead and bringing Logan Schuchart with him.

The driver of the No. 1S helped lead the Shark Racing team to duel top 5-finishes as he came from P21 to fall one spot short of pulling the major upset.

Meanwhile, Brad Sweet failed to finish in the top 10 for the second race in a row, surrendering a few more points to David Gravel, who came home in seventh.

The tour will get right back to it next week, coming back onto the track on Wednesday with the Gettysburg Clash at Lincoln Speedway. As always, all of the action can be seen live on DirtVision.
