Chase Elliott’s spotter has worked the last two weeks with the NASCAR Cup Series after facing charges of battery to a woman and an unborn child.
D’Hondt was arrested in Catawba County, North Carolina on Wednesday May 12 according to their records.

D’Hondt has remained the spotter for the Hendrick Motorsports No. 9 team for the past two weeks – spotting for HMS at both Dover and Circuit of the Americas.
UPDATED: Hendrick Motorsports released a statement on Wednesday morning.
“We became aware of the situation this morning and have immediately and indefinitely suspended Mr. D’Hondt’s role with our company. We are taking this matter very seriously and will continue to seek additional information about the alleged incident.”
A replacement spotter for future races has not yet been named.
The NASCAR Cup Series next races at Charlotte Motor Speedway for the annual Coca Cola 600 0n Sunday May 30 at 5:00 p.m. CT on FOX.
