Kyle Larson overcomes Nashville when no one else could

NASCAR’s teams struggled all day long to try and tame the new track that was Nashville Superspeedway…

But through the trying and telling experiments that crews attempted to throw at the 1/3rd-mile track, Kyle Larson never wavered.

The driver of the No. 5 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet was out front throughout the race, winning stage 2 and picking up the victory by more than five seconds in the 399-mile event.

It’s just the latest in a line of victories for the guy that is becoming Hendrick Motorsports’ flagship driver.

Including the All-Star Race, Larson has won the last four races of the 2021 season, going back to the Coca Cola 600 at Charlotte. Take that back a couple of weeks and the team has won every race since May 2 at Dover.

Ross Chastain ended the day with his best career finish in the runner-up position, but most teams weren’t so lucky.

A missed setup forced Kyle Busch back from the top five, Martin Truex Jr.’s struggles continued, and Ryan Blaney was out of things before they even started.

But the No. 5 car was out in front once again – and its become a normal sight to see.

NASCAR’s next race will be on Saturday afternoon, as the tour hosts its annual doubleheader weekend at Pocono.
