The 38th running of the Kings Royal on Thursday attempted to run twice, getting all the way through the first heat race, but ultimately being postponed due to rain to Saturday.

Rather than attempt to move the race to Friday, series officials elected for a Saturday date for the makeup – which is already hosting the missed Kings Royal from 2020.

It sets up a pair of $175,000-to-win races on the same day – a first in sprint car history.

World of Outlaws series officials were to reconvene on Friday morning to look at the weather forecast for the night, which likewise did not look conducive to racing.

When the delayed Kings Royal resumes, the World of Outlaws will start things off with heat 2 and the remaining four heats thereafter.

Heat 1 was completed and official. Daryn Pittman took home the win in front of Cory Eliason and Brian Brown.

We will have more updates on this story as they become available. Obviously, the World of Outlaws will try harder to run the pair of big money shows this weekend instead of holding out for the slimmer #KnightBefore purse.
