It may come as no surprise, but Brandon Overton came home with another big win.
Just as he started out the Dirt Late Model Dreams week at Eldora Speedway, Overton took night one of the week ahead at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Nebraska on Tuesday.
“It’s such a cool place with a hell of a payout,” Overton said on MAVTV Plus. “We’re just glad to be here.”
The top late model racer in the country continued to prove himself on Tuesday, setting quick time and running an unstoppable race on his way to the win.
Hudson O’Neal made a pass for the lead off of a restart midway through the race, before Overton got him back a handful of laps later.
“That first one there, he was ready,” Overton said. “He snuck around me on the outside there and I just tried to stay calm.”
It might seem like Overton won’t go out and dominate again, because of the car count and odds against someone winning as much as he has.
However, Overton said his car isn’t even 100 percent yet.
“Our car is good,” Overton said on the broadcast. “It’s really balanced. It aint all the way right yet, but we’ll just keep working on it.”
The I-80 Nationals continue on Wednesday with a second prelim night to Thursday’s $30,000-to-win show.
