Kyle Larson started out his July by winning the 37th running of the Kings Royal – the second biggest sprint car crown jewel of the annual season.

He ended the month with the victory in the Prairie Dirt Classic at Fairbury.

The NASCAR star and dirt racing phenom earned the win in just his 17th career late model start.

It hasn’t been too shabby of a career in the type of vehicle since Larson started his run with Rumley Motorsports.

The driver of the No. 6 late model battled for 100 laps, coming from seventh, against drivers like Bobby Pierce and Jonathan Davenport.

It was a sight for racing fans around the country to take in and witness – one that probably won’t be duplicated by anyone else, at least if you throw in his crown from the Kings Royal.

Larson will join NASCAR at Watkins Glen next week, as the sport gets back from its Olympics break.

After that, he’ll be back behind the wheel of a sprint car gunning for his first career Knoxville Nationals title.
