The 2012 IndyCar series champion is out at Andretti Autosport.
Being replaced by the former Formula 1 driver in Romain Grosjean, Ryan Hunter-Reay will no longer be in the seat of the No. 28 DHL Honda.
According to a report on RACER.com, Grosjean will become the third driver to Andretti Autosport’s 2022 lineup, with the future driver of the No. 29 car still to be determined.
Colton Herta and Alexander Rossi will remain in the No. 26 and No. 27 cars for the 2022 season as well.
Grosjean has been the hottest new driver in the series, tackling two podium finishes as well as earning a pole at the Indianapolis Road Course in the Rick Ware Racing No. 51 car.
Although he hasn’t ran ovals this season, the deal is suspected to be running for the full season next year.
The IndyCar season will open at St. Petersburg, but the 2022 schedule has not yet been announced.
