GMS Racing has been teasing an announcement for nearly the past month… today it came to fruition.

Grant Enfinger will be behind the wheel of the No. 23 Champion Power Tools Chevrolet for each of the next two NASCAR Camping World Truck Series seasons.

Enfinger won the 2019 regular season championship with the team in the same series, but didn’t run full-time this season with them.

“It’s an honor to be coming back to GMS Racing, the place where I was able to jump start my career in NASCAR,” Enfinger said in a release. “Together GMS Racing and I saw a tremendous amount of success – winning races and championships – and I’m ready to pick up where we left off.”

Enfinger and GMS’ relationship goes back to his time in the ARCA Menards Series.

He brought the team its first ARCA race win in 2014 and then its first ARCA championship in the next season.

“It’s so great to know where I’m going to be for the next couple of years, as I’m used to finding out around January each season,” Enfinger said. “To have this deal signed this early ahead of the season is huge for me personally and career-wise, and I can’t wait to get started.”

With backing from Champion Power Tools, Enfinger will carry sponsorship through the next pair of racing seasons.

“Champion Power Equipment started our motorsports journey with GMS Racing in 2014, joining forces with Grant’s program at GMS Racing in 2015, and we have never looked back,” said Dennis Trine of Champion Power Equipment. “Year-after-year we are seeing the value that a partnership with not only Grant, but in NASCAR, brings to our company. Our consumers are outdoor enthusiast and we are able to connect with them directly at NASCAR race tracks, allowing us to see measurable growth through the life of the partnership. We look forward to continuing that growth with Grant and the GMS Racing team over the next two seasons.”

GMS Racing stated in the release that they would be announcing the other parts of their driver, sponsor, and crew chief lineups at a later date.

The 2022 NASCAR Truck Series season will open on Friday, February 18, 2022. The series is at Talladega this Saturday (Noon CT – Fox Sports 1) for its second playoff race of the Round of 8.
