Three of NASCAR’s biggest stars that have retired from competing full-time recently are making their returns to the track this Tuesday.
Former drivers turned TV personalities Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Clint Bowyer will be driving the new cars on Tuesday at Bowman Gray Stadium – a short track in Winston Salem, North Carolina.
Tony Stewart, meanwhile, will be testing the car for NASCAR – collecting data for the series to use going into their preseason ‘Clash at the Coliseum’ in Los Angeles next year.
The event is slated to take the spot of what used to be the Budweiser Shootout at Daytona and will utilize a temporary, purpose-built 1/4-mile track built inside the stadium that houses the USC Trojans football team.
This is the latest test that NASCAR has ran and first test for the new cars since they ran at the Charlotte Roval following the track’s playoff race earlier this month.
