Chase Elliott is putting a wing on it.
The NASCAR Cup Series star will be making his 360-winged sprint car debut later in November at Merced Speedway in California.
After making his debut in a midget during the 2020 off-season, and then making his Chili Bowl debut, the Georgia native is further extending his foray into dirt racing.
Elliott will drive the sprint car as part of the support class to the USAC Midget doubleheader event on November 23 and 24 at Merced.
The car will be fielded by Tarlton Motorsports – who NASCAR fans will be familiar with after they sponsored Kyle Larson’s Cup Series car at Las Vegas Motor Speedway a few weeks back.
It has not been announced whether Elliott will run a midget in the race or not, but he has competed with the USAC Midget tour four times this season, so it wouldn’t come as a surprise.
Larson will also be making an appearance – racing in both divisions between his No. 57 sprint car as well as his own No. 1K midget that won the 2021 Chili Bowl Nationals.
The event will be broadcasted live, like every USAC Midget race, on FloRacing and will highlight the series’ battle for the championship between Buddy Kofoid and Chris Windom.
