The final days of the 2021 World of Outlaws Sprint Car and Late Model seasons will have to wait an extra 24 hours.
The series announced Thursday afternoon that Day 1 of the World Finals at The Dirt Track at Charlotte would be canceled due to weather.
The opening day of the weekend for the unique event is utilized for drivers and teams qualifying twice – once for the Friday portion of racing and another time for Saturday.
Instead, the series will qualify for both nights ahead of the racing action on Friday afternoon.
Hot Laps for both Friday and Saturday are currently scheduled for 2:00 p.m. CT (3:00 p.m. in Charlotte) and fans unable to make it to the race can view it live on DirtVision.
