Denny Hamlin dumped Chase Elliott in an iconic race at Martinsville Speedway four years ago.
On Sunday, however, it was Hamlin – getting bumped by eventual race winner Alex Bowman – getting the short end of the stick. It got the veteran heated.

Hamlin went on to call Bowman a hack, amidst a chorus of boo’s raining down from the stands during his postrace interview on NBC.
“He’s just a hack, an absolute hack, “Hamlin said. “He gets his ass kicked by his teammates every week. Fucking terrible.”
With his win at Martinsville, Bowman collects his fourth cup series race win of the season. For reference, Hamlin has just two wins this year.
Although the move from Bowman actually didn’t mean much for Hamlin.
The No. 11 team is moving on to the Championship 4 thanks to a major points cushion coming into the evening. Chase Elliott even clinched his spot after winning the first and second stage of the race.
The last spot instead went to Martin Truex Jr. – who made up four spots on the race track during the choose rule advancing him up to the outside line in the top few rows.
His move likely saved his season, as Truex Jr. was battling a beat up race car.
The NASCAR Cup Series will hold its annual championship race next Sunday, as they take the track at Phoenix at 2:00 p.m. CT on November 6. The event will be televised on NBC.
