For the second time in his NASCAR Cup Series career, Bubba Wallace is making the trip to victory lane.
The 23XI Racing driver made the pass on Alex Bowman in the final 100 laps to secure the lead and open things up to run away with the win.
“I’m just so proud of this team. So proud of the effort they put in each and every week. I’m thankful for the opportunity.”
It’s Wallace’s first win of the 2022 season, as well as his first victory since he won at Talladega in October of last year.
Wallace eventually held off his team owner Denny Hamlin to earn the win and move the No. 45 car into the next round of the owners playoff grid.
“It’s cool to beat the boss, but man, we were just lights out after we got the lead,” Wallace said.
NASCAR will return to the track on Saturday for the final race of the first round of the playoffs at Bristol Motor Speedway. The race is scheduled to kick off at 6:30 p.m. CT and it will be televised on USA Network.
The updated NASCAR Playoff grids will be posted in this article shortly.
