Road Course ace, meet concrete Chase.

The driver of the No. 9 NAPA Auto Parts Chevrolet in Chase Elliott was able to tame the concrete for the second time in 2022, winning at Nashville Superspeedway on Sunday night.

“We were able to work on it there a bit after our penalty and got it going a little bit better,” Elliott said on the USA Network broadcast that followed a lengthy rain delay. “Shout out to everyone at Hendrick out there, that we’ve been getting this car running better every week.”

The Hendrick Motorsports driver overcame a strong run from Kyle Busch, who has yet to sign his contract for next season at Joe Gibbs Racing.

Elliott now totals 15 wins in his NASCAR Cup Series career.

The win puts Elliott to the top of the playoff standings, tied with William Byron and Ross Chastain – who each have 13 playoff points in total as well.

NASCAR will return to the track for its next Cup Series race on Sunday, July 3 at Road America.
