It’s been quite the week for Denny Hamlin, who made waves with his post-All Star Race quotes and appeared on Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s podcast to break all of them down.

The NASCAR Cup Series team owner and driver, on Sunday, conquered the final overtime restart in what was one of the most wild Coca Cola 600’s fans have seen in recent history.

“It’s so special,” Hamlin said on the FOX broadcast. “I mean it’s the last big one that’s not on my resume. I can’t thank my team enough. I’ve been a Coca Cola driver for 18 years and I’ve never won a 600. We just found ourselves in the right place at the right time.”

Hamlin becomes the third driver to reach multiple wins in the Cup Series this season, officially clinching a playoff spot in a race that took out many cars.

The big one struck here:

Later in the race, when it seemed to settle down for the longest stint of the night, Daniel Suarez spun and Chris Buescher went for a ride:

Eventually, with 12 drivers completely out of the race, Kyle Larson held the lead and tried to stave off Chase Briscoe. However, this race was not to be done.

Briscoe went around and brought out a green-white-checkered that was destined to change the outcome of the race.

Larson and Ross Chastain took two tires on their respective trips to pit road, and it came back to haunt them.

Austin Dillon made the run and got by the two, but after he went around, NASCAR was forced to call another overtime finish.

It lead to Hamlin winning a battle against Kyle Busch, and taking home his first career Coca Cola 600 victory at the track.

The NASCAR Cup Series will return next week with a trip to Gateway in their cards and a Sunday, June 5 date with the St. Louis oval in its inaugural premier tour event. The full results can be seen below.
