Iowa Speedway is finally getting the NASCAR Cup Series race that never materialized for years through the track.
According to a report from Jeff Gluck and Jordan Bianchi in the Athletic, Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds is set to host a press conference announcing the news on Tuesday.
The track previously has hosted the likes of the NTT IndyCar Series, NASCAR Xfinity Series, and NASCAR Truck Series, amongst others.
However, IndyCar’s smash-mouth festival style brought large crowds back to the facility in 2022 and 2023 after a brief hiatus to its racing calendar.
The track’s website briefly displayed the dates for the races on its website Monday – those being June 15 and 16, 2024 as far as race days go. That information has since been removed from the track’s site.
