NASCAR postpones rest of Dover race to Monday

NASCAR has officially delayed the finish to the DuraMAX Drydene 400 at Dover to Monday afternoon due to rain on the racing surface.

The series announced that Monday’s resumption of the NASCAR Cup Series race will begin at 11:00 a.m. CT on Fox Sports 1.

There will be 322 laps remaining to the race’s 400-lap total and Kyle Larson is currently scored as the leader.

In the first year under SMI ownership at the race track, Dover saw increased attendance on Sunday despite the weather.

The track was also advertising ticket sales for a 2023 race, so any worries that the future of the facility may be in jeopardy can at least be calmed.

Dover’s weather forecast for Monday at the time of publishing looks promising. After 9:00 a.m., there is less than an eight percent chance of rain throughout the rest of the day.
