North Wilkesboro’s reincarnation to motorsports has been one of the most anticipated, long-term projects rumored to come for fans in recent years.
This August, it all comes to fruition.
The track kicks off the month with a series of asphalt races before stripping the paved surface at the end of the month and running on the dirt through the month of October.
North Wilkesboro Speedway has undergone a number of facility upgrades behind the work from the Race XR sanctioning body:

Racing action kicks off on Tuesday with touring modifieds, headlined by former NASCAR drivers Ryan Newman and Bobby Labonte, as well as youngster Max McLaughlin.

The CARS Tour headlines the pavement portion of the month while October’s final weekend will host the popular Race XR Super Series which includes Eldora Million winner Jonathan Davenport.
