Travis Pastrana hasn’t driven a NASCAR racecar in over three years, but that doesn’t mean the legendary driver – of just about any vehicle out there – is finished with his career.

Pastrana confirmed on his Instagram on Thursday afternoon that he would be filling in for Niece Motorsports’ Ross Chastain on Saturday.

The current high temperature will be at 95 degrees on Saturday, and with Chastain running the NASCAR Xfinity event on Saturday, there was no reason to have him run two races in the heat.

That led to the team calling Pastrana, who car chief Cody Efaw had experience working with.

“I always enjoy coming to race in NASCAR, especially the Truck Series,” Pastrana said in a press release.  “It’s been fun to watch how this team has grown and progressed over the last couple of years, and I’m excited to get the chance to get back behind the wheel.  A huge thank you to Al Niece, Cody [Efaw] and everyone at Niece Motorsports for this amazing opportunity and all of their hard work.”

The Truck series event on Saturday is scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m. CT on Saturday and will be televised by Fox Sports 1.
