23XI Racing is putting Travis Pastrana in a third entry towards the 2023 Daytona 500.

The news was first reported by Jordan Bianchi of The Athletic, stating Pastrana would serve as a driver for Michael Jordan and Denny Hamlin’s NASCAR Cup Series team.

Pastrana is well known across the action sports and hoonigan worlds, appearing in the latest Gymkhana series video, owning the Nitro RallyCross tour, and the Nitro Circus traveling tour.

And that’s just the most recent ventures for the driver who’s name transcends more than just motorsports.

In 2013, Pastrana ran a full-time NASCAR Xfinity Series season ending the year with a best finish of P9 at Richmond Raceway.

Pastrana will have to earn his way into the race on speed, by either being one of the two fastest qualifiers in the single-car session or by being the highest finisher in one of the two duels. There are 36 spots guaranteed to chartered teams and four spots available for open entries.

An official announcement is expected to come from the team at some point in the next week, according to the report.
