It’s becoming an annual tradition on the ASCoC Sprint Car tour.
A packed weekend of racing leading up to a $26,ooo-to-win feature event that honors Rayce Rudeen – the late son of the Rudeen Family that owns the No. 26 sprint car Cory Eliason races – is quickly becoming a larger event on the ASCoC schedule.
This season, the four-race stretch includes three Indiana race tracks, including back-to-back nights of action on a new track in Circle City Raceway for the first national tour race at the place.
There’s plenty of intrigue surrounding the series going into stretch, too.
Coming into the weekend’s four-race mini-series, three drivers have separated themselves from the rest of the field in the point standings.
Ian Madsen leads the way, but hasn’t yet collected a win in 2021. The veteran has five podium finishes this season in the Sam McGhee No. 11 including three in the last four races.
Tyler Courtney picked up his first career victory with the series last weekend at I-96 and looks to build on strong runs there and at Eldora during his first full season in a winged car.
Lastly, Justin Peck is the only multi-time winner in the series this year that shows up on the full-time series roster.
On top of the three, Eliason is gunning to win a title after finishing runner-up in the standings in recent years. It’d be no surprise to see him take a step at some point on the weekend and win one of the races special to the No. 26 team.
Both Thursday and Friday’s races will take place at Circle City, for the tour, with the first night paying $6,000-to-win and the second night $10,000. Saturday’s action at Gas City will give the winner another $6,000 and Sunday’s Rayce Rudeen Race will pay out the regular $26,000-to-win.
The four races will also feature its own point fund – with a total of $26,000 going to the top five finishers. The winner will receive $10,000 with second netting $7,o00. Third will reward $4,000 with $3,000 going to fourth and a $2,000 bonus for hitting fifth place.
Hot laps for each of the four events will kick off at 5:00 p.m. CT and as always with the All Star Circuit of Champions Series, the action can be seen live on FloRacing.
