It looked like his race-dominating lead would be swallowed up by a Shark Racing car, but Brad Sweet held on to capture his sixth World of Outlaws victory of the season.

The four-time champion earned his seventh career win at the track, tying Sammy Swindell on the wins list for the facility.

“You know when you’re struggling behind the lapped cars, they’re coming behind you,” Sweet said on DirtVision. “I just felt like I was getting a little free and not getting off of the corners. This place has slick straightaways, so when you don’t get off of the corners right, you really get (your tires spinning).”

Sweet stayed weary of his competitors, who suffered blown, right-rear tires.

Rico Abreu went to the work area from third place as well as Carson Macedo, who visited earlier on.

“This place changes a lot,” Sweet said. “It can go from the bottom to the top and back to the bottom a lot.”

Sweet and his team extended their points lead over Big Game Motorsports and David Gravel with the victory.

“We’ve got a little bit of work to do to get better here tomorrow,” Sweet said. “Hey, seven wins here – that’s pretty special.”

The series returns to the track on Saturday, July 1 with the finale of the Independence Day Spectacular at Cedar Lake Speedway. All of the action, as always, can be seen live on DirtVision.
