It was an eventful weekend packed with adversity and unique opportunities for David Gravel, but hopefully Sunday afternoon made up for it.
Gravel crossed the start-finish line in second during his first ever USAC Silver Crown race as the famed tour capped off its season this weekend at the Illinois State Fairgrounds.
The race was the third in three days, for Gravel – who ran with the World of Outlaws on Friday at Lakeside Speedway and then with the NASCAR Truck Series at Kansas Speedway on Saturday.
Gravel was outside of the top five in the Outlaws race and then wrecked out of the truck race the next day.
Nearly knocking off the king of the dirt tracks in 2020 in his first start in a Silver Crown car hopefully salvaged a successful three days.
Gravel will be back on track with the World of Outlaws next weekend as the series heads to Kokomo for its final stop before the World Finals.
