The Double Down Motorsports car went 2-for-2 on Friday night at Volusia Speedway Park, as Devin Moran took his second-straight World of Outlaws Late Model Series victory.

Moran took the lead before the halfway point of the race and never looked back, making his 11th career trip to victory lane with the series.

“This is awesome for Double Down Motorsports,” Moran said on the DirtVision broadcast. “I want to thank Casey and all them for giving me a shot. I wouldn’t be here without them.”

Moran got by rookie of the year contender Nick Hoffman, before the 10-lap mark could get through.

“I didn’t, you know,” Moran said on DirtVision, when asked if it was strategic to make the pass that early. “It’s a short 25-lap race, so you just go from the start. Nick didn’t nail that corner in (turns 3 and 4), I almost passed him coming off of turn 4.”

Moran will technically hold the points lead in the series through two races with a perfect 300 points scored, however, he did not declare a full-time season with the tour, so he won’t contend for a championship.

The series returns to the track on Saturday with a $20,000-to-win Sunshine Nationals finale at Volusia Speedway Park. Once again, hot laps are slated for 4:00 p.m. CT.
