Silly Season ran rampant on Monday in the dirt track racing world, but Dominic Scelzi saved a bombshell for Tuesday.

The California native will be behind the wheel of the Roth Motorsports No. 83 car for the remainder of the 2020 World of Outlaws Sprint Car season. The news was revealed during an episode of Winged Nation.

Scelzi will become the third driver to pilot the No. 83 this year in what has been a topsy-turvy season at Roth Motorsports.

Daryn Pittman was scheduled to run the entirety of the season at the start of the year, but moved to the 72 team before he retired from full-time racing at the end of the year.

This gave the Roth Motorsports gang some time to work with in order for them to pick their driver for next season.

Previously, following Pittman’s departure, Spencer Bayston stepped up to take on the 83.

Now, it looks like Scelzi might have a shot to show what he’s got behind the wheel.

The series has five races left in its 2020 season with a pair of them taking place this weekend.
