Sheldon Haudenschild conquered another bullring.
For the World of World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series’ first race at Magnolia Motor Speedway, the No. 17 didn’t put on the show its used to, leading just four of 30 laps in the feature event.
Although, the only lap lead that matters in racing is the final one, and the Ironman in Haudenschild was able to cross that one off.
The win is Haudenschild’s first victory of 2021 and second in the past seven races, dating back to last season at Kokomo Speedway.
For the series’ first trip to The Mag, the race didn’t lack things to talk about.
Parker Price-Miller missed the feature lineup and had to use a provisional to start at the rear.
Series points leader Carson Macedo brought out the second stoppage of the race, going to the work area from sixth before the midway mark.
Even after that, Aaron Reutzel – winner of the last Saturday’s World of Outlaws race at East Bay – flipped to his side while running in fourth.
All the action lead up to the final five laps of the race as Haudenschild passed Schuchart to take the lead at the same time that Brad Sweet was challenging Donny Schatz for the third spot.
Kasey Kahne even passed David Gravel for P6, completing a run into the top five for the former NASCAR star from P23.
With his second place finish, Schuchart will take over the points lead from Macedo, taking the top spot in the points rankings once again.
The World of Outlaws Sprint Cars return to the track on Saturday night as they head to “The Rev” at Revolution Park. As always, the action will be streamed live on DirtVision.
