Fans of Kokomo Speedway will know this better than anyone, but the dirt track that keeps delivering no matter the vehicle on its surface did so again Tuesday night.
As soon as Kyle Larson drew the No. 1 pill for the night’s dash, the section of ‘boo birds’ in the stands had made up there mind.
“It’s rigged,” Larson joked over the microphone to the crowd in attendance to see his and Brad Sweet’s co-owned series take to the Indiana race track with hometown hero Justin Peck racing his way to a high-paying win of $23,023.
As Larson chased down Peck, a lapped car would take to the inside line and naturally block Larson from having enough room to try and get by.
With each attempt, Peck drove further away, eventually making the drive to victory lane.
“I just feel good to win a damn race,” Peck said on FloRacing. “It’s like everything is stacked against us all year, man… My guys kept grinding it out, man. That’s kind of what this deal’s about. You get going up and down the road and you can get chewed up and spit out pretty easy. It feels rewarding when you can put it all together.”
Rico Abreu, Corey Day and Cole Macedo rounded out the top five. The series will return to the track on Tuesday, August 15 at Huset’s Speedway. As always, all of the action can be seen live on FloRacing.
