This year’s star of seemingly every dirt track series there is, is testing his hand in a new car this weekend.
That’s right, Kyle Larson will be taking to the track in a late model this weekend when the Lucas Oil Dirt Late Model Series heads to Port Royal Speedway for the Rumble by the River.
It’s the veteran’s first time in a late model, in which he’ll be running the No. 6 car for Kevin Rumley – the notable owner in the sport – during the three-day event.

Larson tested the car with Rumley a pair of weekends ago at Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, South Carolina.
The team posed for a picture following the test, as well.

No matter what happens with Larson in the late model, it will be unique to see the long time NASCAR and dirt star in a late model this weekend.
Site Publisher Chris Williams had thoughts on that as well in an edition of Uncle Dick’s Pit Box.
