Surprise, surprise – Kyle Larson rant through the 360 Sprint Car field at Merced Speedway on Tuesday night.

During the support class show at the California track, however, Chase Elliott was making his debut in a winged, 360-sprint car that took to the track.

Elliott came home P18, and struggled a bit throughout the race, but its tough to ask an asphalt lifer to rip a 360 in his first race behind the wheel.

Larson was his old self, taking the lead from Ryan Timms after the youngster spun early on in the 35-lap feature.

The Elk Grove, California native in the No. 57 car lead the rest of the way out.

All of them will be back on Wednesday for the second night of action at Merced.
