As always is the case with the annual Performance Racing Industry Trade Show, a number of stories broke throughout the day on Friday surrounding the upcoming season of motorsports.

Five drivers will now bid for ROTY with WoO LMS
In the past two days at PRI, three more drivers have thrown their names in to run their first season with the World of Outlaws Late Model Series in 2022.
Tanner English, Gordy Gundaker and Gary Dillon each committed to intending on running the full schedule with the series. As we saw this season, that doesn’t always happen, but it’s still a noteworthy roster of drivers running the tour.

Ricky Weiss has announced that he will follow an open schedule in 2022.
Ron Capps announces his own Funny Car team
Ron Capps officially announced his new NHRA Funny Car team would be called Ron Capps Motorsports Inc.
He’ll bring his crew chief, pit crew, and sponsor NAPA Racing along with him as well.

USAC Silver Crown schedule released, Leary to run Klatt car full-time
The 2022 USAC Silver Crown slate features 12 race days and 11 points events, beginning on May 1 at Terre Haute.
C.J. Leary will run for Klatt Enterprises, full-time.

Jadon Rogers to run USAC Non-Wing tour full-time
The 2020 Rookie of the Year is back to go for a full tour in 2022 on the USAC Non-Wing Sprint Car Series:

The 2020 Rookie of the Year will contest all 51 races in his first full season with the series.

Tony Stewart, Chase Briscoe announce Mahindra Sponsorship
Chase Briscoe will have a new primary sponsor in the NASCAR Cup Series in 2022 as Mahindra, a tractor company, announced it would put their name on the No. 14 car for a ‘majority’ of the season.

The company will also be on Briscoe’s No. 5 midget for the 2022 Chili Bowl Nationals.
