Ryan Timms returned to Huset’s Speedway on Sunday and walked away with another win at the race track.
The 15 year-old phenom, one day after making his Knoxville Raceway debut and failing to transfer to the main event, conquered the 24-driver field that took to the track at Huset’s.
“I don’t think our car was the best out there, but I think lapped traffic came at the perfect time,” Timms said on DirtVision. “We got by Kaleb (Johnson) and Matt (Juhl) in traffic and then it rubbered up at the perfect time. I’m just glad we got it done.”
Timms referenced his qualifying struggles that can put him behind the 8-ball at times, but making it to the re-draw played a big part in the win on Sunday.
“We’re normally pretty fast in the A and just struggle in qualifying,” Timms said. “We got it down a little bit tonight – we luckily drew the 2 and got it done.”
Matt Juhl took the second spot on the podium and finished in front of fellow track title contenders Austin McCarl and Justin Henderson.
Two weekends of racing remain at the track, coming up at the end of the month after Knoxville Nationals season. All Huset’s Speedway weekly events can be seen on DirtVision and the next race for the series will come August 28.
