Nearly fourteen hours after it’s conclusion, American Sprint Car Series driver Scott Bogucki has
been disqualified from the 360 Knoxville Nationals.

As a result, Bogucki loses his P3 finish from Thursday, forfeits all points and prize money as a
result of the disqualification. He was 11th in points after the first night of qualifying.

Bogucki’s disqualification came as a result of illegal work on the cylinder heads of his #84
machine’s Ostrich engine.

The heads were removed and further inspected and determined to be illegal as the ASCS logo had been deformed, defaced, and partially removed in several cylinders, the series said in a statement.

Bogucki’s team was in violation of Section 4C-2, which pertains to ASCS engines. The rule
states the following:

During polishing, the edges of the letters on the ASCS logos are sometimes inadvertently
brushed with the polish wheel. This is permissible as long as the letters are still intact. Angle
milling is allowed as long as the head remains within 1 degree of original manufacturer’s
specifications. Excessive porting and/or angle milling of the ASCS logo cylinder heads may
affect their structural integrity, and is in no way recommended by Brodix.
