We have a second dirt racing veteran that will be entered in this month’s NASCAR Cup Series race at the Bristol Dirt Track.

Shane Golobic has signed on with B.J. McLeod’s Live Fast Motorsports No. 78 team to make his Cup Series debut when the series races there on March 28.

“I believe every racer has dreamed of the opportunity to race in the NASCAR Cup Series, and the fact that it’s going to happen on dirt at Bristol Motor Speedway only makes it sweeter,” Golobic said in a release. “This opportunity honestly fell into our lap out of nowhere, and it’s something you just can’t pass up.”

The ride will get help in funding from Matt Wood of Matt Wood Racing.

“Sometimes something falls in your lap that’s just too good to be true,” Wood said in the release. “Partnering with Matt Tifft and BJ McLeod of Live Fast Motorsports to run Shane in the NASCAR Cup Series is one of those deals. I think it’s every person’s dream that’s ever owned a race team to be a part of a NASCAR Cup race. This is definitely one of those items you put in your bucket that you think you will never check off the list.”

Golobic becomes the second dirt racer to confirm his entry into the Cup Series race, joining Chris Windom who will be piloting a Rick Ware Racing car.

G0lobic comes into the show with a plethora of experience that includes eight Chili Bowl Nationals A-Main starts and a pair of Trophy Cup championships.

He also has experience in a NASCAR K&N West car with Bill McAnally Racing back in 2013.

The team said that sponsorship opportunity is still available for the car and can be found by emailing allison@prioritymanagementmarketing.com.
