At one point in his career, Spencer Bayston considered dialing it back on racing every weekend.
That was months before he signed a deal to compete for CJB Motorsports – one that saw him win the World of Outlaws Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year, clinching the title this weekend at Charlotte.
Bayston’s rookie season behind the wheel of the No. 5 included wins at both Bristol Motor Speedway as well as Huset’s Speedway – two iconic tracks on the series schedule.
The season also included podium finishes for Bayston at the Skagit Nationals, Brownells Big Guns Bash at Knoxville and at Lake Ozark Speedway in the spring.
In 69 races, Bayston finished with 16 top 5’s and 38 top 10’s.
