Long time dirt driver Stewart Friesen is the latest to put his name on the Bristol Dirt Entry List.
The two-time NASCAR Truck Series winner will be attempting both the Truck race and the Cup race on Sunday, driving for Spire Motorsports to attempt his Cup debut.
Halmar International, Friesen’s truck sponsor and team company, will be footing the sponsorship bill to give the Canadian a look.
Friesen will pilot the No. 77 Spire car in the Cup Race and will serve as a teammate to Corey LaJoie.
Of Friesen’s pair of Truck Series victories, one came on the dirt at Eldora Speedway during the last Dirt Derby. He had another on asphalt that season at Phoenix.
Friesen currently sits in sixth in the NASCAR Truck Series championship points, going into Friday’s race at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
